Hackathons are a place to test and build your ideas in a short period of time, to make your long thought about ideas into actual prototypes. Where better to concentrate on your idea than away from all the noise and distractions of the city? This is your chance to take your first steps on your entrepreneurial journey, make new connections and learn more about the world of startups. Helping you take your first steps are both local and international mentors, who will guide you step-by-step. 

How does it work

Think of an idea you would like to tackle and share it with us. Start creating a team around your idea. We will also help you gather people around your idea.

At the beginning of the hackathon we will form teams around the best ideas - please don’t worry if you don’t have an idea, you are more than welcome to participate in the hackathon by joining teams to work together!

During the 48 hours, you will have exciting, hardworking, and brainstorming time working on the idea which will turn into a working prototype by the end of the hackathon. We will also enjoy the Moldovian countryside and built a sense of community.

To make it real, there will be hackathon-hardened local and international mentors ready to share their expertise and help you throughout the whole event.

All the finished prototypes will be evaluated and the best teams will get rewarding prizes that will give you the tools to develop their ideas even further!

Timeline

Register for the hackathon and submit your idea.
DEADLINE: September 15.

Matchmaking and ideation event in ArtCor, Chișinău. Team leads can pitch their ideas and gather new team members.
September 24.

Teams participating in the hackathon are announced.
September 27.

За последние два года YEP Молдова позаботилась об одном этапе, который ранее отсутствовал в Garage48. Теперь лучшие команды будут приглашены участвовать в YEP!Starter - международная акселерационная программа.

Fintech: With the use of software and modern technology in the area where banks are opening their APIs and people are getting more demanding and aware of their financial transactions, it's really the highest time to contribute to the field with an application as successful as Transferwise, Revolut or Coinbase

Telecom: What could challenge the big fishes who have operated in the market for decades? Or how could one add telecommunication capabilities to existing applications and services? Is there anything in the worlds of AI,IoT,AR/VR ,BOTs that telecom could benefit from?

Creative Industries: One can really go wild when it comes to this one. The ecosystem of creative industries consists of the obvious ones like music, architecture, design, and film but also video games, publishing, museums and even culinary and education. Now add data, new technology, and a global dimension to it and you end up with something as successful as Spotify, recognized as the Assemble architecture studio or useful as Yummmly.

Healthtech: No matter how developed the outside world is we will always have to take care of our health. This is why it's important to improve the delivery, payment, and/or consumption of care, with the ability to increase the development and commercialization of medicinal products. How to approach the privacy issues, better use data and perhaps even develop a system that is scalable globally?
